每年差不多到了這個時候，都會想起這首歌，網上流傳了不少歌詞的譯本，但仍以這個較為喜歡。至於這翻譯是出自那位大師之手，便不得而知，但是，只記下了網頁的出處，相信要找也會是不容易的。

夏日最後的玫瑰，入秋猶自紅
All her lovely companions are faded and gone; 
所有可愛的伴侶，無復舊時容，
No flower of her kindred, no rosebud is nigh, 
殘花片片悲凋謝，新花望裡空，
To reflect back her blushes, or give sigh for sigh. 
欲把嬌顏留住，長嘆誰與共。
I'll not leave thee, thou lone one to pine on the stem; 
何須留汝在枝頭，遺汝獨消瘦，
Since the lovely are sleeping, go sleep thou with them. 
既然好友盡長眠，去去相與守，
Thus kindly I scatter, thy leaves o'er that bed, 
我將掃棄成香塚，為汝殷勤覆，
Where thy mates of the garden, lie scentless and dead. 
從此芳菲難再復，惆悵使人愁！
So soon may I follow, when friendships decay, 
面對隨花傷往事，往事成空虛，
And from love's shining circle, the gems drop away,
半生珍惜良友情，消失已無餘，
When true hearts lie withered, and fond ones are flown, 
更有那人間歡愛，飛去如飄絮，
Oh！who would inhabit, this bleak world alone. 
似這般悽涼的世界，索居向誰語！
